Church of Scotland
I began painting this piece (which is photographed a bit crooked, sorry) in September. I put it aside and have worked on it intermittently. The painting (oil on board) looks a LOT better in person -- although I did just fix a few MORE things on it. The church is next to my house in Little Sands, PEI but unfortunately has been closed. It is in a bit of a state of disrepair, and I hope the Province will see that it doesn't go to hell in a handbasket, so to speak. I used a palette knife to give texture to the peeling clapboards and went to a brush for the the window. As I look at it, I remember there is some wood holding smaller panes of glass which I haven't painted in. Maybe I should do that to break the monotony of the window...or maybe I should just Leave It Alone !!!
